Does Your House Need to be Jacked up to Repair the Foundation?

The way most foundation repair companies approach repair is by using many jacks to lift the home while new foundation supports are installed. Jacking must proceed slowly; it took a long time for your floor to sink, so you can't push it back up quickly without causing cracks and stress in the building.

The Traditional Method: Jacking up the Home

While different systems are used, ranging from simple framed posts to steel piers driven deep into the ground searching for stable soil, all require the home be stabilized and pressure on the existing foundation relieved. The way most foundation repair companies approach jacking is to lift the home while new foundation supports are installed. Jacking must proceed slowly, as the floor can't be pushed back up quickly without causing cracks and stress in the building. As with other structural repairs, jacking must also be done appropriately, you cannot simply put a screw jack under the lowest spot and start turning. Ideally, someone with experience will assess the problem and set up the posts and any necessary beams. You can then screw the jacks up a turn or two each month. Expect some cracked plaster along the way.

Sure Safe EV-1 Patented Technology

Sure Safe’s EV-1 patented technology makes it possible for the first time ever to repair crawl foundations without moving or lifting the structure using cast in place concrete footings. Never before was it possible to pour a cast-in-place concrete footing in a confined crawl space without lifting the home, that is until Sure Safe developed fabric formed footings (Geo-form) that actually molds itself to the ground as 2500 psi concrete is pumped into it. Sure Safe’s patented repair technology also saves tens of thousands of dollars over inferior outdated traditional methods used today.

Combined with site, soil and model specific engineering a Sure Safe foundation provides strong floors that feel like walking on concrete, resistance to uplift forces, earthquake and hurricane forces, and settling. As each form is pumped with concrete it fills to 9-square feet and weighs over a half ton, and when combined with other footings literally locks the home to the ground by sheer combined weight.
